Our skills strategy focuses on improving skills provision in Leicester and Leicestershire through investment and targeted support. Until May 2023 we led on the Skills Advisory Panel, which coordinated this strategic effort. We drive a number of wider skills groups, including an area Digital Skills Partnership, apprenticeships forum, education-business links and support wider area skills and employment forums. In the period 2023-2024 we undertook an update of area digital inclusion research, upgraded area labour market resources and started to implement area green skills news updates to coordinate area green skills information. We are now working closely with Leicester City Council, DWP, Leicestershire County Council and wider partners on the Get Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Working Plan, Skills Bootcamps, NEET support and labour market information. As part of this work, we now create regular labour market newsletters.
