The East Midlands Development Corporation is one of the key projects of the Midlands Engine, the partnership of private and public sector sector organisations which works to promote investment and growth across the region.
“A collaboration between five councils – Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, North West Leicestershire, Rushcliffe and Broxtowe, The East Midlands Development Corporation is here to coordinate, enable and deliver regeneration that has the potential to unlock growth that will have impact at regional scale – and to do so in a way which creates a repeatable model.”
The East Midlands Development Corporation will maximise the transformational potential of four huge regeneration sites:
- Attenborough Great Park – a park like no other
- Toton & Chetwynd – the model for living & working
- East Midlands Parkway & the A453 – including Ratcliffe Power Station
- East Midlands Airport Area – Britain’s busiest dedicated air-freight hub
These new plans could create 85,000 jobs, 20,000 homes, and add billions in value to the regional economy. With Net Zero ambitions for future infrastructure developments it will ensure local growth, employment for all, and the creation of inclusive communities.
