National body UK Anti-Doping has relocated to Loughborough University’s SportPark, with a prominent workplace consultant having transformed its new space.
This brings another major company into the regional area of Leicester and Leicestershire further supporting Loughborough University’s overall skills and sporting offer. It is only recently that SportsPark pavilion 4 has officially opened as well as been confirmed in it’s Passivhaus accreditation.
SportsPark pavilion 4 had an extension delivered by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) as part of the Getting Building Fund.
Funds were designated for investment in local, shovel-ready infrastructure projects to stimulate jobs and support economic recovery across the country. The LLEP was allocated £20m, supporting the SportPark expansion with £6m. Further funding support has been provided by Loughborough Town Deal.
With UK Anti-Doping relocation from London to Loughborough they are the latest sports governing body to join Loughborough University. Known as a UK sports Hub, it has a number of sports governing bodies choosing to base themselves at the East Midlands campus. Some of these include British Weightlifting and England Netball.
COO of UK Anti-Doping Philip Bunt said:
“In relocating to SportPark, we are now based in an outstanding, energy efficient base alongside other mission-driven and innovative sports organisations and also co-located with the UK’s leading university for sport.”
The office space was transformed by Blueprint Interiors and has capacity for more than 60 people in order to make the workspace suitable for the UK Anti-Doping relocation.
Rachel Biddles, from Blueprint Interiors, added:
“In order to be as flexible as possible and meet the individual needs of each member, all 24 workstations have rise and fall desks.”
