Innovative Leicestershire has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Collaboration category of the Leicestershire Business Awards.
The LLEP-led partnership, which sits under the Innovation Board, has been named alongside four other finalists.
Innovative Leicestershire is focused on building an inclusive innovation ecosystem in Leicester and Leicestershire. It runs the Leicestershire Innovation Festival, which takes place each February.
Its vision is to grow the local economy by 5% above the national average by encouraging local businesses and communities to become more productive.
Led by the LLEP’s Innovation Board, Innovative Leicestershire brings together multiple organisations spanning public, private, education and third sectors with a shared vision of creating and delivering a long-term innovation strategy for the region.

It’s fantastic to be shortlisted and is recognition of the huge amount of work the LLEP and its partners have put into moving the innovation agenda forward over recent years.
Innovative Leicestershire partners include the region’s three universities, banks and investors, local business leaders from all sectors, and more. They have agreed a multi-agency Innovation Strategy, and promote opportunities through programmes and events such as the festival and its flagship event – the LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards.
Their mission is to embed innovative thinking and practice in businesses of all sizes in order to increase regional productivity. Doing so will build local collaboration, growth, and opportunity, while simultaneously safeguarding future prosperity and productivity.
Innovation and productivity are two of the four pillars in the LLEP’s Economic Growth Strategy.
The Leicestershire Business Awards, organised by the East Midlands Chamber, will take place at The Venue, De Montfort University, on 3 November.
