Leicester City Council has been working with LLBSP, Leicestershire County Council, Rutland County Council, the Integrated Care Board and Jobcentre Plus to create a Get Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Working Plan, as part of the national “Get Britain Working” initiative.
The Get Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland Working area plan was launched on December 11th 2025. This vital regional plan will address area work, health, and skills challenges, identify labour market priorities, and set out how we will contribute to the national goal of an 80% employment rate.
The plan is a ten-year roadmap that represents the next phase of our shared commitment to improving economic opportunities and tackling the barriers that prevent too many of our residents from accessing good quality work.
