Work is underway on a new gateway needed to unlock further development at MIRA Technology Park.
The LLEP has invested £6.25m towards new road and security infrastructure at the enterprise zone site outside of Hinckley.
MIRA Technology Park posted an aerial image on its social media this week, adding:
Ground works and infrastructure enhancements are paving the way for our Welcome Centre, designed to optimise traffic flow, streamline deliveries, and elevate visitor experience. This infrastructure also unlocks the next phase, big news to come!”
Hundreds of new jobs are expected to be created following completion of the gateway development.
It will open up further development land earmarked for future development.
Speaking when the LLEP investment was announced, LLEP Co-Chair Andy Reed OBE said: “By funding work on the MIRA site, the LLEP is helping to provide infrastructure to open up large areas of new development land.
“This is important because the existing infrastructure is not adequate for supporting such growth.
“The investment will further the development of a growing mobility cluster at the cutting edge of technology and will lead to more high-tech jobs.”
The LLEP provided funding to the project, in partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, towards the new security interchange and welcome centre, road infrastructure and associated utilities.
Investment was secured via the Enterprise Zone Retained Business Rates fund.
MIRA is one of the first confirmed sponsors of the 2024 Leicestershire Innovation Festival 2024.
